Bio:

Alfran was born an orphan who was raised in a great library-keep far to the south by Plinken, the Half-Orc janitor.
Plinken was unlike most with Orcish blood, His mannerisms reminded those who knew him of a well-spoken kind old human man.
Plinken took a shining to the orphaned Alfran from the day he first layed eyes on the crying bundle of cloths left by the entrance to the keep.
As Alfran grew, he became Plinkens apprentice. With unfettered access to the keeps sprawling library – he began to learn of the world and its magics.

Alfran showed great affinity to the arcane arts and soon confided in Plinken.
Seeing his potential, he told the Archmage of the temple of his apprentices prowess.

The Archmage, angry at the unauthorised access to tomes & the unregulated use of magic, banished Alfran to a random location in the prime material plane.

Alfran popped into existence in a desert, upside-down & exactly 7.2 ft above a pile of rocks.
Landing face first on the jagged rocks rendered Alfran unconscious for many hours.
When he came to, he felt a strange weight on his chest. Looking down he saw what before, he had but read about in dusty tomes – A black viper!
He had read of their fierce venom and how many had fallen to their bite, more importantly he recalled their making excellent familiars and the technique by which to claim the creature.
He locked eyes with the viper and said: “I shall call you… Sylvio!”
Since that day Alfran and Sylvio wander the land, seeking out the magical items and exotic locations Alfran spent his childhood reading about.
