William is one of those fortunate people who combine all the qualities of the brash with the insecure. He is wont to stride forth with confidence until hindered by errant opposition clearly beneath his capabilities. Thus, he bravely positions himself behind his many friends who would sacrifice their lives for him even without the soul-crushing binding magic.

Fortunately for his friends, he was blessed with the extremely stable powers of sorcery which are perfectly safe in his hands. Clearly, as his powerful mind deducts, he was meant to spread the message of friendship across the land as he saves lives and fights evil. This will help him honor his sponsors and fans who follow him to receive their somewhat greedy recompense for their previous unwitting investments in his adventures (namely, their generous offering of props for bar fights).

Unfortunately, many people misunderstand the genius mind of William, and he finds himself frequently facing the limited minds of his compatriots. As a result, he has chosen a life wandering the wastes to avoid needless argument flung towards his humble person. It has been a masterful plan of his to organise a team of adventurers that he came across into an exploratory force to delve into nearby structures. Of course, humbly and wise as he is, he delegates the actual day-to-day operations of the group to others, ready to step in when needed.
